Our Simple Thanksgiving Lunch

We had a great Thanksgiving lunch at friends’ home. E cooked two medium-sized turkey, and so we had plenty of leftover. I made sure I grabbed one of the wings while E took the other one. For E and I, wings are the best part of the turkey. What is your favorite part of the turkey?
B, the host, was meticulously carving the turkey.
Home-made jala bread that E bakes only twice a year on special occasion.
I snuck in to get a piece of meat while the host was preoccupied with other matter. Bad!
Before lunch:
As I said earlier, I will fill up more on greens and healthy stuff…which I did. I skipped the pumpkin pie but I was not able to resist the icecream with caramel topping.
After lunch:
That orange yam dish was exceptionally good. It was cooked with brown sugar, butter, and topped with marshmallows.

Wow!!!! Ung sililam!!!!
Simple ba ‘yan? As delicious as it looks!
Yum yum!
Kami man uya, ma thanksgiving because we were spared from another wrath of typhoon. It changed its direction.
Belle, everything looks so tempting. A feast for the eyes
Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m salivating with all those yummy foods! Kakagutom tita Belle:) Happy Thanksgiving!
Grabi man na handa an. Hamak pang tubis?
We had turkey in the our staff cafeteria on Thanksgiving, pero mas masilam daw sako ang chicken (and put a little rice).
Ay inda nakagutom.
“Kami man uya, ma thanksgiving because we were spared from another wrath of typhoon. It changed its direction.”
On Gerry: that’s a GOOD news, dai ako naka apod sato kaso udma pa. Kararabya. Dai ko isi na palan ning bagyo, sabi ko “ngata daw….?”.
Nag-ilinuman kamo maski gabagyo?
Gerry, thank God, you guys are safe there and that calls for a thanksgiving alright. my brother and i were texting back and forth last night, (Sat morning, your time),and found out that the typhoon changed its course, thus, Catanduanes was spared…hallelujah!
my favorite dish from the table was the yam. yum!
Elyani, everything tasted good. we had lots of leftover for the rest of the week.
Dimpz, masarap talaga, lalo na yong luto ko..hahaha. conceited ano?
K, i agree, mas masilam ang chicken sa turkey and with chicken, you don’t get the bloated and sleepy feeling after eating.
mag subscribe ka ngani sa typhoon2000.com so you know if there is a typhoon heading to the province.
i can’t explain what it is in wings that i like but i’m a WINGs lover too, ate! ha.ha.ha.
Happy Thanksgiving Belle!!
Sarap niyan ah! My sister also prepared the yams for their Thanksgiving lunch. And with orange, like yours. I liked it but to be completely honest, lasang minatamis na kamote. Pero masarap
Looks like a hearty Thanksgiving feast. I’m glad you had a wonderful celebration with the people close to you.
BTW, you have an award on my blog.
That must have been a feast. And it was nearly demolished. Very graphic evidence it was superb.
I can’t say what my fave turkey part is. I’ve had it so seldom. But I guess I would love the wings too as that is my preferred chicken part. I cooked a native turkey once and I stuffed it withi potato stuffing, not bread, which I picked up from some american cookbook. I would have to say it was a disaster.
Belated happy thanksgiving to you and your lovely family.
dangkin, wings are full of flavor and not only that, i like to chew on bones..hehe
Kongkong622, you are right yam is like kamote, only kamote is firmer than yam, di ba? i am going to try this recipe on kamote one of these days.
Rach, thanks! it was a pleasant thanksgiving with family and good friends.
ohh, thank you so much for the award!
Anna, hehehe, potato stuffing? i have never tried it before. stuffing, by the way, is my husband’s favorite. i cooked mine made out of corn bread and wheat bread, celery, onions, salt, lots of sage, pepper, and egg. delicious!
I love wings too! but I never tried turkey wings hehe
The food served look yummy..nagutom tuloy ako
What a hearty feast. And I wouldn’t be able to avoid that ice cream too. By the way, I tagged you, Belle
