Mango’s Antics

I have been busy these days working OT, reason why I haven’t updated my blog for a while. A while ago, upon arriving home, I saw Tepsie had been playing with Mango a lot, and this was one particular trick that Mango liked to do. “Freeze that pose, let me get my camera!” I said. Of course, he didn’t hold still. Tepsie had to do take 2 for the photo shoot. Gotcha!
For some reasons, the only person who can make Mango do this trick is Tepsie. I tried it only to get bitten. It hurts when he bites. Ouch! Lexie tried it, too, but often times Mango just flew out of her hands.
Perhaps, we don’t have gentle hands like Tepsie.
By the way, Mango has been with us for 13 years. Not exactly sure, how old he is. And he still likes to perch on top of my monitor.
The moment he saw Tepsie pouring liquid soap in an empty container, he immediately flew on top of her head and raptly watched her. Look how inquisitive he was! He probably thought it was something he could nibble on.

I think Mango was wondering whether your taking a picture of him would deserve a nibble of the treats. He looks so cute!
baging pagka-inalistong gamgam ni mango. ung gayon ning color niya.
He/She plays favorites. That’s why he/she will only do this trick for Tepsie. You know what, I had a parrot too and I think they can recognize people because he/she hated my brother and would start cussing when he sees him. 13 years, wow that’s long for a small bird. Mango acts like a kid!
i didn’t know that a bird can be like that, i am totally not aware that they can be a pet the way mango is to you, amazing, or maybe i am just used to see pet birds on cage.
wow! 13 years? I didn’t know birds can live that long =)
Anyway Mango’s really cute and again, I love his color.
ohhh, mango is so cute and adorable!!! and smart, too.
very cute Belle! Maybe you can take a short video on Mango’s tricks and post it here
Mango is so cute! I never thought birds could be cute really. Very interesting.
sweet!
and clever too
“I love chemistry…I can watch it for hours.”
Mango
Mango is so adorable and I find it amazing how you have trained him to be free. He must bring joy to everyone in your home. His antics must be a nice source of entertainment too. It seems he has a favorite in the family. I love how focused he was on the 2nd photo.
Have a fabulous week Belle!
@elyani, he does even without treats in return so long steffi handles him.
@joyjoy, he has beautiful deep colors which resemble the fruit mango.
@KK, i didn’t know that pet plays favorite. i think whoever is the kindest to mango gets his affection.
@Zherwin, some birds especially parrots and lovebird make good pet. they can even live 25 years max.
@verns, yes, 13 years of living with us. he is considered the youngest in the family..our little teenager.
@sexy mom, he is so smart and he loves to be with people. he chirps non stop when he wants something.
@momoftwo, unfortunately, i don’t have a video cam to take his little antics. will computer video cam do?
@sesame, he is obedient only when he is with Tepsie because she spends a lot of time with him.
@pining, yup, very clever. if only, he can utter words…
@john, hi john, nice to see Mango dropped a line, appreciate it.
@rachel, most of the time, he is out of his cage flying all over the house. he only stays in his cage when we have a company or when we are not home.
you have a nice weekend, too.
That “container” shot is amazing. The bird even got a curious look to what she was doing. Trained pet ha?
Wow, 13 years with the family? That’s a really long time and I heard they live very long too. What a neat trick Tepsie got him to do! I like the idea of coming up with a video of him doing tricks
Ang cute talaga ni Mango! I enjoy reading about his antics and tricks
