Thievery Abounds on Friendster Site

It infuriates me when I see my pictures stolen in front of my very eyes. I don’t mind them taking my pictures and post them on their site if at least, they give the credit to where it is rightfully due. Or, I don’t even mind seeing my pictures in people’s site so long they leave the pictures the way they are – unaltered- for people to oogle on. That’s fine with me. People are smart and they can eventually trace to whom the photos belong.
What irks me is despite of how repeatedly I told the guy that the pictures were mine (by leaving comments on my pictures that are displayed on his site , and yes with his signature on them,) instead, he had the gall to get mad at me, and told me that he got the pictures from a different site, and that he already thanked the person from whom he got them. What I would do if I were him, after he was notified, I would get rid of the pictures or if he likes my pictures so much, I would retain them and put a caption that the pictures were taken by Belle. It is the right thing to do.
Of course, he didn’t do a thing. Instead, he took it upon himself and put a signature on my photograph that he knew he didn’t take. Which, by the way, only sneak thieves are capable of doing. And what is worse was he had the courage to alter my photo by cosmetically removing the other person from it using the photoshop and put his own signature at the bottom and making it look like his. And the funny thing is he did an amateurish job at it that even a kid would know that there was something wrong with the picture, as if he painted it over with tool brush that was done so lousily.
Take a look:

original picture

the picture that the thief altered.
Doesn’t that tell the type of person he is? Definitely, an untrusworthy sneak thief.
I wonder why he would do that. I can’t imagine he’s making any money by doing that. Could he be just trying to annoy you? You can always try emailing Friendster’s customer support and explain what one of their users is doing.
he is uncivilized man. i already emailed the friendster about it. it takes a while for them to investigate.
or, i will let him put his signature on a crappy picture he altered.
Foul!
Next time, just put your watermark in the middle or on the focal point.
Belle, kasusupgan kan satong island, naka-kahang pa Catanduanes sa altered image. Was this used in our provincial newspaper?
Funny thing was, masyadong obvious parang nag genie-in-the-bottle yung alteration by removing the other person. Ang bobo!
Auee, that is in my agenda, to put my watermark on every photo so no one can claim it anymore especially the good ones.
K, and she is belligerent about it, too. instead of saying, i am sorry, etc etc, she had the audacity to announce on the bulletin telling everybody on friendster that she wasn’t guilty of stealing because she didn’t get them from me. well, well, ignorance of the law is no excuse. and she had the guts to alter the photo and claim as her own by putting her own signature. nakasupog talaga! i wonder what else is she capable of doing.
Bella – I’ve heard that professional photographers post their works using a very minimum number of pixils. That limits their value and appearance if someone tries to print them out. Would that help you? But Wow! That picture is soooo beautiful!
Hahaha. That was absurd! lol. at least that guy put some effort to alter your pic! Haha. Seems like something is not functioning right on his head to defend that silly photoshopped picture. the blurry image was crazy! You can report that guy by clicking “report” link or something like that in his photo album. I think it is located right below each uploaded pictures. Good luck.
It’s good to put a watermark on all of your pics Tita Belle. Halata namang na-edit lang yong pangalawa sana tinudo na nya dapat hindi halata hehehe…
Hi Belle, I agree with your shout..Some of my Photos were taken from flickr/friendster site and give the credit to the person they knew, which they have never been in Gigmoto. I dont really mind using them as an advert for catanduanes, my only concern is give the right person the credit..Sa akin pic may signature na inalis pa!!! at yong name ko nilag sa pic na pangit di naman akin… ano ba yan!!!Maliit na nga catanduanes di pa magka-isa kahit sa photos lang….Shame on you to those thieveeeesss..
