A Beautiful White Rose

Two days ago, I parked my vehicle outside Safeway store to deliver a parcel. I probably spent 2 minutes or so inside waiting for a signature from the designated clerk.
Then I came back to my vehicle, and as I was finishing what I was doing, a gentleman appeared from out of nowhere and handed me this beautiful rose. He said, “I am a retired postal employee; this rose is for you,” and hurriedly left the scene.
Me: Wait! What is your name and where are you from?
Gentleman: My name is Dennis C and I am from G, AZ., moving up here shortly.
Me: Welcome to our neighborhood.
Gentleman: Thank you.
Wow, that was a nice gesture from a nice gentleman on such a beautiful and warm day. It surely made my day. “But how I am going to keep it from wilting when I still have more than 5 hours ahead of me before I head home?” I asked myself. Coincidentally, I carried an extra bottle of water that day and without hesitation, submerged the stem in an attempt to try to prolong the life of this beautiful rose. I could easily find water should I become thirsty, I thought. I set it in a position that would prevent the bottle from tipping over. Of course, unavoidable things happened. I accidentally knocked the bottle over but managed to grab it quickly. Ohhh, the things I did just to save this rose.
Question for you: Has a stranger ever handed you a rose or something?

That’s a really nice surprise. I get stuff from strangers handing out promo items, do they count? hehe Just today I got a big bottle of Head & Shoulders Conditioner, I wanted to go back for a second bottle sana.
now, Belle–you know how it is to receive a rose from a stranger. that is exactly what you have done to other people, who have been recipients of your act of kindness.
and isn’t it a sign Belle? a sign of good things that lie ahead?
i have received bouquets or flower arrangements, from traveling in my previous work. like when i am caught on a birthday in hotels (which happened several times over the last 10 years), but i guess this does not count. the rose handed to you is different.
the rose is a perfect creation of God, in all its beauty and purity.
auee, that counts, I guess. you should have come back for seconds. Sayang!
Dine, your sixth sense is indeed strong. you mentioned a sign of good things that lie ahead. you were so correct. thanks Dine for the prayers. you truly are an angel!
am so happy Belle, very very happy! you are indeed so blessed!
Wow, rose from a secret admirer? Haha…that’s sweet. I haven’t had such luck though.
That’s such a kind gesture by the gentleman, the world needs more random acts of kindness. I remember you giving a rose for an old lady, so you are just being reciprocated for your kindness.
Have I ever received anything from a stranger? I’ve been sent flowers from suitors ;)…there was also when I went to the Phils with my 18 month old Lil K, there was this lady who gave me a slice of pound cake when my little one started to be fussy on the last leg of the trip, it quieted her down.
The answer to your question is NO. Nobody has ever handed me a rose. But that is such a sweet gesture from that nice gentleman. I guess he knows how hard your kind of work is and that is just his way of thanking you for doing your job. It would also definitely make my day.
Belle, now that was so sweet of the stranger.
gee, i haven’t received anything like that but i do get to bring home roses and other flower arrangements mostly from weddings I attended.
gawd, I wish I have a neighbour like that!
Hi Belle. What a special act of random kindness. I’m sure you will always remember this very kind gesture. I have never experienced something as sweet as this one.
