8 Random Facts About Me
Posted by Belle on 11 Oct 2007 at 10:01 pm | Tagged as: meme
Long long long time ago, Toe tagged me for eight random facts about myself. Sorry, it took so long to comply with this meme.
This afternoon, while my husband was talking to his friends over the phone, I was eavesdropping, part of the time. Not that I wanted to but I was seated in front of my computer which is just a few steps from where his domain is so I could hear pretty much everything. I overheard him boasting to his friend that I am pretty easy to get along. He definitely earned pogi points for saying this. Just so you know, I didn’t blackmail or force him to say this. I must say, it felt good hearing this from him and the fun part was he didn’t know I heard it. I thought, now is best time to comply with a long overdue meme from Toe. I was hoping to hear more from the conversation but, I had to leave the room to do some chores before I headed to my Yoga class so now, I have to come up with 7 more.
Wait a moment, I might be able to seek help from my husband.
Me: S, I have to do a meme for 8 random facts about me, could you help me?
S: Ahh, friendly, lively, pleasant, comical, whimsical, in good shape for her age, (bakit may pahabol pang for her age)jovial, and bitchy(followed by a big laugh.)
I hope he meant bitchy in a nice way otherwise, no dinner for him tomorrow.
Here are more facts about yours truly:
When my mother died, I asked my friends and co-workers not to comfort, hug, or give me sympathy because I would cry inconsolably if they did, thus, I would not be able to concentrate on my job. Why I went to work, you might ask. Well, I preferred to keep my mind busy and occupied rather than dwelling on it at home. I would definitely go nuts in the house. So, this is my unique way of dealing with grief, which most of you, if not all, might find weird.
It doesn’t take much to please me. My daughters would ask me, mommy, what do you want for Christmas? And I would retort, “I don’t really want anything; you, being good always, is the greatest gift you can give me.” Of course, I always get something from my darling daughters. But with my husband, it is a different story. I want moolah, lots of moolah…hehehe, just kidding.
After living on the outskirts for about 10 years now, I don’t think I can live in the city again. I like trees, mountains, and rivers. I like small town atmosphere, cooler weather, and fresh and clean air. I know there is downside to living on the outlying area especially shopping for especialty items but we are getting by. We go down to the city once in every three week to shop for oriental food or I shop online.
I detest drinking pop. I am more of a water and tea drinker and I squeeze in carrot and green juice in between.
Last but not least: Tengo un amigo que se llama Paco. El es medico y vive en espana. De vez en cuando, el me deja un mensaje por el yahoo messenger. El es muy marvilloso, amable, y inteligente. Tenemos somos amigos por mucho tiempo. Me ayudaste escribir espanol bien. Ojala que practicamos a menudo pero nuestra diferencia del tiempo lo hace duro para nosotros. Si no oigo de el, yo preocupo. Me haria feliz si el me escribe un comento aqui en mi blog.
Now, I would like to pass this meme on to the following people: K, and prof Gerry (the best prof in Catanduanes State Colleges) nursyE, my long time good friend, and Elyani, my good friend from Indonesia,

I agree with you on the soda thing, although I will drink it if it’s free. hehe. But I rarely drink the stuff.
I can relate to most of your random facts…. well, except for the one about having a doctor friend named Paco who lives in Spain. No es verdad para mi.
Por dios, parang hirap e-explica ang random facts about me. I am surprised with your fluency in Spanish. Galeng.
I didn’t know Gerry is a Prof in my Alma Mater?
Hablo Espanol un poco. So I understand you have a friend, Paco, who’s a doctor. Otherwise, you lost me or I lost you.
Somehow I have already guessed you’re easy to please, jovial, comical, easy to cry, and bitchy in a good way. The ‘in good shape’ part is easy to see witout guessing. You can delete “for your age.”
Belle, done it na, Thanks.
I like the bitchy part … hehehe. The other day I couldn’t sleep, flipping the channel and was hooked by a Stephen King movie called “Dolores Claiborne”. One of the dialogue between Dolores (played by Kathy Bates) and Vera Donovan (Judy Parfitt) goes like this … “Sometimes being a bitch is all a woman has to hold on to.” Well sometimes, indeed

About the 8 random facts, I have done this back in August when Fe tagged me. You can read them right here :

Thanks again anyway, yummy mommy
nice to learn these random facts, belle.
boy i had to rack my brains to regurgitate my spanish 1, 2, 3 and 20!!!!
wala.
I bet it’s bitchy in a nice way. Nice to know more about you Belle.
Hi Belle, I can see that you’re really easy to get along with. Oh boy, I envy you, I wanted to learn Spanish, but we only have 2 semesters of it way back in college.
Noemi…it is indeed bitchy in a good way. In that movie am talking about…Kathy Bates was portrayed as one tough woman. Even at the worst of times, like when she’s suspected of murder, she’s never complained. She’s never giving up after all the heartache she endures. Most people would, she doesn’t. She is a much stronger, vibrant person. Without being sexist, I’d like to say women are true fighters.
I agree on the “good shape for her age”
Hehe, thanks for the compliment, Ma’am Belle, but I am not yet there, ehehe. Kadakul ning mga react.
Hi Belle. I agree, you’re very friendly and pleasant. Your comments always reflect your kind nature. I also admire how lovely and fit you are.
How I wish I could do the same and stay away from soda. No wonder you’re in good shape, you lead a healthy life.
BTW, you have an award waiting on my blog.
Uno Dos Tres…ole ole ole! hehehe kumanta lang ako ng “Maria” ni Ricky Martin. Yan lang ata alam ko hehehe
Anyway that is so sweet of your husband. We really do appreciate it more when loved ones talk about us that way in front of their friends behind our back. For me it’s more sincere
You know what, I want to live in a small town too. I still want to work in the city but I want to go home to a place where the community is tight and to a place that is closer to nature. But I guess that’s impossible here in Manila. I mean even if we have places like that in nearby provinces like Laguna or Cavite, the traffic is unbearable.
Hi Belle,
Your website is fantastic… I like the way you write…. masaya at punong puno ng kagalakan… the photograghs are all very beautiful…. you are a nature lover as shown in these works of yours…. I really love them all…. maybe because I am also a local/ homegrown or what you call a probinsyana…. masarap alalahanin ang mga araw noong bata pa ako na naglalaro sa kapaligiran ng bundok, ilog, sapa at iba pa. Kaya naman walang sawang binabalik balikan ko itong space mo. Congratulations Belle and keep up this up!!! And by the way, I was telling my friend about you…she is from Catanduanes too..from Virac…. oh she’ll love this too!!! Thank you very much for this!!!
I really enjoy the way you write and all the beautiful photograghs… the sceneries and all… nakakatuwa talaga!
Wil, even if it is free, i will not drink it. the carbon in the pop hurts my throat kasi. ohhh, you still remember your espanol. estudiaste espanol en el colegio?
K, i took a refresher course in spanish for 4 semesters so i can converse with my mexi-friends. it is fun to know a different language. Gerry, iyo, alistuhon iyan!
Annamanila, you are right, i have a friend named Paco from Spain whom i practiced spanish often. ngayon, hindi na. thanks anna…you are so sweet!
K, wow, that quick! thanks a lot, amigo.
Elyani, ohh, i love that line…”sometimes, being a bitch is all the woman has to hold on to.” i will try to remember this. okay, please ignore the meme then..thanks dear friend.
Noemi, i hope so, too..hehe.
Chesca, hindi ko na rin maalala and espanol, so reason why i took a refresher course.
Rowena, thank you! without someone to practice with, am losing my espanol by the day. i need Paco back..regresame Paco!!!
MoM, thanks! If you see me in person, you will know why…hehehe.
Gerry, that is okay, to me, you are the best!
Rach, thank you so much for the kind words. and i am honored to be bestowed another award especially from a kind, sweet, and caring person like you.
Verns, i think i heard that song before. it is a fun song. ayan nawala ng tuluyan si Paco kasi i mentioned him sa blog, natakot siguro. sana bumalik uli.
i know what you meant, verns. we can always go back home for a quality vacation with our parents and relatives.
Baby Aragon, welcome to my blog! ohh, thank you so much for the beautiful comments. am so flattered!
when i was a kid, we used to swim in the river all day until our lips turned purple and puckered. wala pang mga damit, huh? mahilig din akong pumunta sa bukid to gather some firewood, tapos we always made sure that we got to have fun too. i miss those days! please come back again.
that is why i always go back to quezon whenever i have the time, ibang-iba talaga kapag nasa probinsya. i live in imus now but being near in manila still has that city-feel.
Thanks for doing this Belle. As far as I can remember from my college Spanish, you have a friend named Paco who’s a doctor and lives in Spain. You usually message each other using YM. AND…. you always eat menudo? Hahaha… I don’t understand anymore.
Zherwin, i can tell that you love the suburds, because of your love for mountain climbing. i would join you guys in a heartbeat if i am in the area.
Toe, you are welcome! sorry it took so long to comply. hehehe..you were right about the translations except on the last line. a menudo means often in espanol…hehe.
