It has been raining and snowing here lately so the desert is getting all the moisture to green up and bloom out the wildflowers. I haven’t seen it that lush green for a while. The soil is soft and moist. The four of us, E, R, my husband and I went for a hike hoping to stumble across one of the Indian ruins. We wandered around the desert for some time, cutting through barbwire fences often. We probably covered 3 miles but over some tough terrains. It was just what I needed as I haven’t been working out lately. Finally, after going around in circles for several times, we spotted the ruins.

The Jumping Cholla cactus
The reason why it is called Jumping Cholla is because the minute you brush by it, the pin cushions jump out and the quills jab you. My friend R was once a victim of this when he took a nasty tumble on the cholla while on a hunting trip. He took off his pants and religiously removed each pin off his body. Imagine being half naked in the middle of the desert? It is a good thing that he always carry a needle nose plier with him when he goes on a hunting escapade.
These are the indian ruins- dwellings from many many years ago, that we were looking for, while on a hike.

My daughter, Stephanie, recently received a message from a woman under a username, Vange, in myspace. She said she is currently promoting Filipino talents in Asia via the net because of the sad fact that Filipinos are not well-known asian-wide. I took a quick look at the site and it appears to be valid and genuine. So, Steffi gave her a go ahead to add her profile on the site.
So, my fellow bloggers, have you heard about this site: Asian Popcorn.com Please visit the site and go to the Fan pages to take a peek at Stephanie and other Filipino talents. I even saw Charice Pempengco there, the only one I was familiar with. You guys, however, might recognize a few. And ohh, don’t forget to vote.

I was tagged by my friend, Elyani, for this meme. Sorry I took so long to respond.

5 Things Found In My Wallet
5 Things Found In My Room
5 Things I’ve Always Wanted To Do
5 Things I’m Currently Into
Will not tag anyone but should you like to do this meme, you may do so.

I was tagged by Rach for this meme. And I believe a few others tagged me but I haven’t had a chance to comply with them yet. Sorry!
I like red for every situation except for my own wardrobe. Red looks horrible on me from every angle. Even red lipstick doesn’t look good on me, and would rather prefer to use lip gloss.
Here are the rules:
1. Post your photo wearing red, may it be a red top, bottom, the least would be red accessories if you hate wearing red… If you can’t find one, you still have an option…. Either post your Significant Other’s photo or your child’s photo, if you have one. Of course, they should be wearing red.
2. Let us know the reason why you were wearing red that particular day. Was it your birthday? Is red your fave color or was it the shirt that you first saw in your closet that day?
3. Tag 3 people close to your heart. By the way, they have to be in your blogroll. No cheating heart please.
4. Once you’re tagged, please keep it going - just for this month.
Just to remind you not to cheat: tag 3 people close to your heart =)
After looking through my old pictures, I came across this one taken just last Christmas. Why Steffi was wearing red? Colors red and green are commonly associated with Christmas and are called Christmas colors which represent life and blood. I posted this pictures already in my blog a couple of months ago and I am reposting this once again for this particular meme. My daughter, Steffi, looks stunning in red, doesn’t she?

Look what we had to go through yesterday just so we could be with our daughter, Lexi, on her 19th birthday.
Pretty nasty huh? We were not aware of such road condition until we were mid-way through. Weather forecast called for rain and wind so my husband and I took a chance just for the love of a daughter. We thought we were not going to make it back. Although, if push comes to shove, we can always stay overnight in Lexi’s dorm because she has an extra bed.
My husband couldn’t hold still while we were shopping for clothes. He wanted to head back home before the snow turned into ice. He knows how treacherous it is to drive on an icy road. We left Flagstaff at 5 PM and drove home via a different route - a much longer but safer route. We didn’t get home until 7:30 PM. We were so exhausted!
The birthday girl, Lexi (wearing red blouse) and her friend on our way to an early dinner.
Anyway, the following morning I woke up to a big surprise when I looked through the window. The snow must have followed us all the way home. And I had to go to work and be on the road for at least 6 hours. Ahhh, this is what I call the downside of my job. Lucky were those who got to stay indoor and sipped a tea by a cozy fireplace.

Hello fellow bloggers and readers. Sorry for the blog inactivity for almost a month. Were it not for the emails I received from my friend Dine, and my dear SIL, I would have forgotten my blog permanently…hehe. Well, nothing is wrong. I have been extra busy these past weeks. You know that I hold a full time job, plus I work overtime now and then. Then I recently volunteered to manage Stephanie Mae’s myspace site because she is extremely busy at school, taking a very hard curriculum. I thought that by taking over the job of adding friends to her site, it would help her focus on her studies.
The process though of adding friends on myspace is tedious and time-consuming. I thought there should be an easy way of doing it without taking up all my time. So, I google searched and learned that there is a program that one can download for a fee of $30. I wasn’t sure if this is an effective software and would not bring in spams to the site. Nevertheless, I presented the idea to my boss, (who else, my daughter..hehe), and she suggested that we wait for a while.
Also, I found out through my friend, Dine, that managing a myspace accounts is one activity that some of her staff do at “On Assist. Com“, an online assistant. If only I have plenty of moolah, I would love to have their site do it for me for a very reasonable cost. They can help you with everything you can possibly imagine. Their services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week even on holidays. So, if you have something requiring professional attention, assistance is only click away.
On an entirely different note,
Balut anyone?
